All burials and removals therein shall be conducted under the
supervision of the Superintendent.
A. The Board of Cemetery Commissioners may, by deed made and executed
in such a manner and form as it may prescribe, convey to any person
the sole and exclusive right of burial in any lot in the Town cemeteries,
in accordance with the following schedule of prices; provided, however,
that the Town shall provide or set aside a suitable portion as a public
burial place for the inhabitants, free of charge.
(2) Price for cremation lot: $200.
(3) Price for cremation lot with place for upright monument: $500.
One internment included in each of above.
B. Charges for additional burials per grave shall be as follows:
C. The Commissioners reserve the right to charge, in addition to any
burial charge in effect at the time, for the excavation and removal
of ledge or large stone.
No trees shall be planted and only such shrubs may be planted
as are approved by the Commissioners. All plantings or such shrubs
must be planted under the supervision of the Superintendent. Trimming
of shrubs is not part of perpetual care. When shrubs become too large
and unruly, they will be removed by the Superintendent.
All individuals requesting a grave, or before exercising a right
of burial in a lot, before a grave is opened, shall fill out and sign,
in triplicate, an application therefor and submit the same to the
Superintendent. Such forms shall be entitled "Cemetery Application"
and shall be in such form as the Commissioners deem necessary. The
same may be obtained from the Commissioners or the Superintendent.
No monuments are allowed on less than a two-grave lot. Only
a flush marker is allowed on a single-grave lot. Foot markers must
be a flush marker. The size of a monument shall be no larger than
three feet long and one foot wide on a two-grave lot.
All fees due to the Cemetery Department must be paid before
the setting of stones.
The Commissioners shall have the right to refuse to assign or
convey a burial lot to any person not an inhabitant of the Town of
Lunenburg.
The Town cemeteries will be closed from dusk to dawn.
Artificial flowers will not be allowed.
All decorations shall be removed by October 15 and may be removed
and disposed of at the discretion of the Superintendent after that
date.
