(a)
The following shall be considered parking violations and shall be
subject to the listed associated fines:
(1)
Parking in prohibited or limited areas: $25.
(2)
Parking in a designated handicapped area: $75.
(3)
Parking in a fire lane: $75.
(4)
Parking within 10 feet of a fire hydrant: $75.
(5)
Parking in a designated crosswalk: $75.
(6)
Parking as to obstruct a private road or driveway: $50.
(7)
Parking on a sidewalk: $75.
(8)
Double parking: $50.
(9)
Parking left wheels to curb: $25.
(10)
Parking as to obstruct a wheelchair ramp: $75.
(11)
Parking or stopping as to obstruct traffic on a public street:
$40.
(12)
Parking in a loading zone: $50.
(13)
Parking a boat or trailer in a street: $50.
(14)
Parking within an intersection: $50.
(15)
Parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk: $25.
(16)
Parking during a snow ban: $75.
(17)
Parking on Town owned property where posted: $75.
(b)
For the purposes of citation and enforcement under this section,
each day shall be considered a separate violation.
(c)
Failure to pay the imposed fine within 14 days of issuance shall
cause the original fine imposed to be doubled.
(d)
Failure to pay the imposed fine within 21 days of issuance shall
cause the original fine to be tripled.

(a)
Parking on Town owned lawns and landscaped areas is prohibited. It
shall be unlawful for any person to park anywhere whatsoever on Town
owned lawns or landscaped areas after being duly posted.
(b)
The director of public works, or his designee, is hereby authorized
to post a "no parking tow away" sign on any Town-owned lawn or landscaped
area or where otherwise indicated.
(c)
The penalty for violation shall subject the owner to a maximum fine
of $50 and the towing of said vehicle at owner's expense.
(d)
No parking sign. Upon the designation of the public works director,
the public works department shall give notice of such designation
to the public of such prohibited area by causing signs to be posted
at the location. Said sign shall state: "Town Property. No Parking
Anytime, Tow Zone". Such sign shall be of a standard size and color
and of standard lettering and mounting conforming to specifications
established by the Chief of Police and shall contain a notice as to
the maximum penalty for violation.

The local Fire Chief or his designated representative is authorized
to establish fire lanes on private property devoted to public use
(all industrial commercial and residential over six units, schools
and health care facilities). The designation by the Fire Chief or
his designated representative of such fire lanes shall never be held
to make the Town responsible for maintenance of such fire lanes, but
the owner of such property shall continue to be responsible for the
maintenance of such area.

The official record of the designation and location of fire
lanes shall be kept in the office of the Building Official.

Parking of a motor vehicle in a fire lane or otherwise obstructing
fire lanes shall be prohibited at all times.

Upon the designation of a fire lane pursuant to this division,
the local Fire Chief shall give notice of such designation to the
owner of such area directing the owner to cause signs to be posted
at the expense of the owner at the designated location. Such sign
shall state: "Fire Lane, No Parking Anytime, Tow Zone." Such signs
shall be of a standard size and color and of standard lettering and
mounting conforming to specifications established by the local Fire
Chief and shall contain a notice as to the maximum penalty for violations.
The entire length of Kern Boulevard shall be designated a fire
lane and parking on both sides shall be prohibited consistent with
the provisions of this section.

It shall be unlawful for the owner or operator of any motor
vehicle to park the vehicle in any area designated as a fire lane.
Violators of the provisions of this division shall be subject to a
fine not exceeding $75 for each offense.

A vehicle illegally parked or disabled in a fire lane may be
towed away at the expense of the owner. The fee to be charged is not
to exceed the public utilities commission rate for towing.
