The position of Property Maintenance Official is hereby created
in the Township of Cranford.
A. The Property Maintenance Official shall be responsible to the Township
Committee through the Township Administrator and the Construction
Official and shall be responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and
perform field inspections and certifications of construction, repair,
alterations and property maintenance of commercial, industrial and
multifamily residential buildings and related structures for compliance
with the building, electrical, plumbing, property maintenance, uniform
fire safety and zoning standards.
B. In addition, the Property Maintenance Official shall be responsible
to the Township Committee, to the Township Administrator and the Township
Engineer to perform field inspections of public works type structures
such as curbs, sidewalks, streets, etc., in accordance with Township-established
standards.
The Property Maintenance Official shall be appointed by the
majority vote of the Township Committee and shall serve at the pleasure
of the Township Committee.
The Property Maintenance Official shall receive such salary
as shall be provided from time to time by the Township Committee by
ordinance.
