As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
GARAGE SALES
All sales, whether located in residential districts or commercial
districts, titled "garage sale," "lawn sale," "attic sale," "rummage
sale" or "flea market sale" or any similar casual sale of tangible
personal property which is advertised by any means whereby the public
at large is or can be made aware of such sale.
GOODS
Any goods, warehouse merchandise or other property capable
of being the object of a sale regulated hereunder.
It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct a garage sale
in the Township without first registering with the Township Police
Department.
Information for registration shall include:
A. The name of the person or organization conducting the sale.
B. The name of the owner of the property on which the sale is to be
conducted.
C. The location at which the sale is to be conducted.
D. The date on which the sale will commence.
No garage sales shall be conducted other than between the hours
of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. At the conclusion of each day's sale,
all goods shall be removed from the front yard of the property on
which the sale is being conducted.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Township Police Department.
Any person conducting any garage sale or similar activity without being properly registered therefor or who shall otherwise violate any of the other terms or regulations of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to the penalty stated in Chapter
1, §
1-1, of this Code. Each day that such sale shall continue without being duly registered shall be considered a separate violation.
