A.
Hunting within the Village of Coloma may be allowed but shall be limited to parcels that have been approved for hunting by the Hunting Review Committee, consisting of the Chief of Police, Village President, and the Chairman of the Safety Committee, based upon an application that has been filed with the Village Clerk by the parcel owner. The Committee shall approve or deny any parcel submitted for hunting approval, and may place restrictions upon hunting at the parcel, including but not limited to the type (bow, shotgun, rifle) or caliber of weapon (.22 cal., 410 gauge, etc.) used for hunting. In determining whether to allow a parcel of land to be enrolled for hunting, and the restrictions to be placed upon the parcel, if any, the Committee shall consider the following factors:
(1)
The size of the parcel because hunting may be approved for any parcels or portions of parcels located in the Village;
(2)
The proximity of residential development, commercial development, highways, parks, and other locations where people may congregate to the parcel;
(3)
The general topography of the parcel;
(4)
The size of the parcel; and
(5)
Such other factors as may be present for any particular parcel.
B.
"Parcel" when used in this section shall mean a whole or portion of a "tax parcel," namely a parcel or portion of a parcel that is particularly described by a single tax parcel number.
C.
The Village Clerk shall maintain a map showing parcels enrolled for hunting, including any restrictions placed by the Committee upon the parcels.
D.
Each parcel will be looked at on a case-by-case basis.
E.
The Hunting Review Committee has the authority to deem a parcel eligible to hunt on.
F.
All property enrolled for hunting will be reviewed every five years. The Village, at any time, by its own volition can decide if any property does not qualify for continued eligibility.
