Every person having ownership, possession, custody, control
or charge of any building or structure in Manchester Township shall
place and maintain the established street address number thereon upon
or near each entrance from a public road and/or from any other public
access way, in the manner and location prescribed by this Part. "Accessway"
shall include, but not be limited to, any alley, driveway, walkway
or stairway.

If any building or structure does not have an established street
address number, such number shall be established by Manchester Township.
All unassigned buildings or structures on the west or south side of
any street within Manchester Township shall be assigned an even number.
All unassigned buildings or structures on the east or north side of
any street within Manchester Township shall be assigned an odd number.

The owners and/or occupants of all establishments contained
within a multi-tenant commercial, office or industrial building complex
which has front and rear entrances shall cause the correct street
address numbers to be placed on or adjacent to both front and rear
doors. These numbers shall comply with all other sections of this
Part.

The owner, occupant, lessee, tenant, custodian or other person
or agent in charge of any building or structure shall cause the existing
or subsequently-designated street address number to be placed in accordance
with the provisions of this Part within 10 days after receipt of written
notice from Manchester Township containing appropriate instructions
regarding such placement.

1. The minimum requirements of any street address number shall be as
follows:
A. The numbers
shall be a minimum of eight inches in width and three inches in height.
Manchester Township may prescribe a street address number larger in
size when it is determined that due to lighting conditions, building
location, shadows, background or other reasons, street address number
of minimum dimensions will not be easily readable.
B. The numbers shall be of contrasting colors and of such a design that
they are legible and easily readable from the street or accessway.
C. Any building not visible from the street shall place the number on
a post or other means of support at least 24 inches off of the ground
at the main driveway or walkway entrance, so as to be easily visible
from the street.
D. In the event that a building is one of several located along a joint driveway or access drive or private street, each address must be posted at the entrance from the street as required in Subsection
1C and additionally at each individual drive or front yard area.
E. Any building situated on a corner lot shall locate the number only
on the street representing the correct mailing address assigned to
the building, regardless of where the driveway is located.
F. Numbers may be placed on a mailbox or mailbox post, only if the mailbox
is located directly in front of the building assigned that street
address number and on the same side of the street and the number is
affixed to both sides of the mailbox or post at a height of at least
24 inches off of the ground.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this Part, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before
a district justice in the manner provided for the enforcement of summary
offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure, shall
be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and,
in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment
not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this Part continues
or each section of this Part which shall be found to have been violated
shall constitute a separate offense.
