The Alert Fire Company No. 1, organized and existing in Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania, is hereby designated as the officially recognized fire company for Manchester Township.

1. 
The Alert Fire Company No. 1 is hereby authorized to provide such services to Manchester Township as may be necessary for the protection of persons and property situate therein, which services include, by way of example and not of limitation, the extinguishment and prevention of loss of life and property from fire, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, not including the provision of advanced or basic life support services and other situations that may endanger the health, safety and welfare of Manchester Township and its residents or visitors.

The company may also provide non-emergency and public service functions such as, by way of example and not of limitation, removing water from property after storms and assisting in the removal, abatement and prevention of danger or injury to persons or property, whether through natural causes or otherwise.
3. 
The company may also conduct and participate in such training activities and drills, either within or outside of Manchester Township, as may be deemed necessary by the Fire Chief to maintain proficiency in providing service.
4. 
The company may also respond to calls and provide services to municipalities outside of Manchester Township upon receiving a request for mutual aid.

1. 
Members of the company are authorized to participate in any of the activities of the company authorized by the provisions of § 7-402 of this Part and to go to or return from any such activity.
2. 
In addition, the members of the fire company are also authorized to do the following things:
A. 
Engage in any type of drill training, practice, test, ceremony or parade when authorized or directed by the Fire Chief or an officer or officers of the company.
B. 
Engage in fund-raising activities for the fire company when authorized or directed by an officer or officers of the company.
3. 
Members of the fire company who are specifically authorized and approved by the Manchester Township Fire Chief are authorized to respond individually outside Manchester Township to assist in providing fire fighting and other services to other fire companies and other municipalities, if specifically requested by the other company or municipality. The Fire Chief shall at all times maintain an up to date list of all firefighters so authorized.
4. 
Participation in social and athletic events that are not connected with fundraising shall not be considered to be authorized activities of members of the company, whether or not authorized by an officer or officers of the fire company.

Fire Police are authorized to direct traffic at accident scenes and to perform other duties when directed to do so by the Fire Chief, Chief of Northern Regional Police or the Board of Supervisors. They shall not be authorized to direct traffic or perform duties at the request, of any other person or organization.

The purpose of this Part is to authorize activities for firefighters for Worker's Compensation purposes as set forth in § 601(a) of the Worker's Compensation Act, 77 P.S. § 1031(a).
