A. Upon the rental of any real property for commercial use, prior to
the initial setup or start of said commercial use, an inspection is
required to determine that the buildings and/or premises are fit for
the commercial use proposed, have no life or safety hazards and are
in compliance with all applicable laws of the State of New Jersey
and all applicable ordinances of the Township of Galloway.
B. This certification is required whenever there is a change in rental
occupancy or a change or an expansion of use within the rental premises.
The fee for inspection is $100. Should there be more than two follow-up
inspections required, an additional fee of $100 shall be charged.
The fee shall be paid prior to the inspection.
C. The application, fee and inspection shall be conducted through the
Township of Galloway's Construction Code Office.
D. Inspections will be within three business days of making application.
It shall now be a requirement that all commercial
businesses, upon change of ownership or use, receive an inspection
for the issuance of a certificate of continued occupancy. The fee
for this inspection shall be charged as follows:
A. Buildings up to and including 5,000 square feet will
be charged $50 for each subcode.
B. Buildings over 5,000 square feet up to 20,000 square
feet will be charged $100 per subcode.
C. Buildings over 20,000 square feet will be charged
$150 for each subcode.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any
provision hereof shall, upon conviction therefor in any Municipal
Court of competent jurisdiction, be subject to a fine of not more
than $2,000, imprisonment for not more than 90 days and/or a period
of community service for not more than 90 days, and each violation
and each day of violation shall be construed as a separate offense.
