This chapter shall be known as the "Tax Grievance
Day Law of the Town of Marbletown." It is the intent of this chapter
to change the date for hearing of complaints by the Board of Assessment
Review, for the Town of Marbletown, from the fourth Tuesday in May
to the first Wednesday after the fourth Tuesday in May.
This chapter is enacted pursuant to, and in
accordance with, the authority granted in the provisions of the New
York State Municipal Home Rule Law and the New York State Real Property
Tax Law § 512 (1-a).
As of the effective date of this law, the Board
of Assessment review of the Town of Marbletown shall meet for the
purpose of hearing of complaints, as required by New York State Real
Property Tax Law § 512, on the first Wednesday after the fourth
Tuesday in May, and shall meet on as many consecutive days thereafter
as the Board deems necessary. The provisions of this law shall not
be construed to change the date for the filing of the tentative roll.
