A Commission is hereby established, which shall be known and designated as the “Marbletown Youth and Recreation Commission.”
Such Commission shall consist of at least six but not more than 12 voting members, all residents of the Town of Marbletown, one-half of the members of said Commission shall be at least 21 years of age, and the remaining members shall be no more than 21 years of age. The members of the Commission will be appointed by the Town Board of the Town of Marbletown for periods of two years. Nominees for appointment will be interviewed by the Commission and recommendations will be made to the Town Board. Vacancies for unexpired terms shall be filled in the same manner. Officers/Members of the Youth and Recreation Commission shall elect a Chair or Co-Chairs to conduct Commission meetings.
A. 
The Commission shall meet monthly to research and study the needs and interests of the citizens of the Town of Marbletown, develop plans and programs to be run by the Commission, implement programs in conjunction with the Ulster County Youth Bureau, evaluate programs to determine the effectiveness, coordinate the effective and efficient dispersing of aid received by the Town and prepare an annual report for submission to the Ulster County Youth Bureau.
B. 
The Commission will maintain, equip and operate the Town Park.
C. 
The Commission will oversee the operation of the Community Center.
Majority rule of voters present shall prevail. If a tie occurs, the Director will have voting power.
The Commission reports directly to the Town Board all its finding and recommendations, and in conjunction with the Town Board, requests assistance from the various agencies in Ulster County and New York State to establish and implement programs. One liaison from the Town Board is appointed to represent the Youth and Recreation Commission.
