The Tick Control Advisory Committee is hereby reestablished
and shall consist of the following members:
A. A person
knowledgeable in the area of tick control and tick-related illnesses,
to be designated by the Commissioner of the Suffolk County Department
of Health Services, who shall serve as the Chairperson;
B. The Director
of the Division of Vector Control;
C. The County
Executive, or his or her designee;
D. The Presiding
Officer, or his or her designee;
E. The Chair
of the Legislature’s Public Works Committee, or his or her designee;
F. The Chair
of the Legislature’s Parks Committee, or his or her designee;
G. The Chair
of the Legislature’s Health Committee, or his or her designee;
H. The Commissioner
of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works or his or her designee;
I. The Commissioner
of the Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation,
or his or her designee;
J. The Long
Island Regional Director for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation
and Historic Preservation, or his or her designee;
K. A representative
of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Wildlife
Division;
L. A representative
of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Pesticide
Division;
M. A representative
of an environmental advocacy group, to be designated by the County
Legislature;
N. A public
health professional designated by the Commissioner of the Suffolk
County Department of Health Services;
O. A representative
of the East End Supervisors and Mayors Association;
P. A representative
of the Cornell Cooperative Extension;
Q. The Director of the Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center at Southampton
Hospital, or his or her designee; and

R. A person who has worked in, or is familiar with, the field of veterinary
science and specializes in large animals, to be selected by the County
Legislature; and

S. A person who has worked in, or is familiar with, the field of veterinary
science and specializes in small animals, to be selected by the County
Legislature.

The Committee shall meet three to four times per year, keep
a record of all of its proceedings, and determine the rules of its
own proceedings, with special meetings to be called by the Chairperson
upon his or her own initiative or upon receipt of a written request
signed by at least six members of the Committee.
The members of said Committee shall serve without compensation
and shall serve at the pleasure of their respective appointing authorities.

Ten members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum to transact
business of the Committee at both regular and special meetings.
Clerical services involving the month-to-month operation of
this advisory committee, as well as supplies and postage as necessary,
will be provided by the staff of the Suffolk County Legislature.
