Any property owner who allows construction on his or her property without first obtaining a building permit as required by the West Greenwich ordinances shall be required to cease all construction work until a building permit has been properly issued.
A property owner who is issued a building permit after the commencement of construction works shall be assessed double the normal fee as set by Town Schedule of Fees, with a minimum assessment of $100 above the stated fee.

A fence or wall in a residential zone shall not exceed the following height:
A. 
Fences and walls may be constructed in side and rear yards up to six feet in height.
B. 
In front yards, the maximum height of fences and walls shall be four feet, and they shall be situated at the front setback line. Corner lots will have more than one front lot line.
C. 
The maximum height of a fence is three feet for fences located adjacent to a driveway on either the property or abutting property so as not to obstruct the clear view of traffic or pedestrians above the triangle formed by the driveway and the street and a third line joining the two points 10 feet from the intersection of the driveway and street.
