The Town Board of the Town of Alden does hereby create a Recreation Advisory Board for the purpose of advising, counseling, advocating and suggesting programs, ideas, modifications, etc., to the Town Board and the Recreation Department for the improvement and enhancement of the Town of Alden Recreation Program.
The Recreation Advisory Board shall consist of 11 persons as follows: two permanent members, the Town Councilman charged with the responsibility of the Recreation Committee (who shall act as Chairman, unless he designates that responsibility to another member of the Advisory Board) and the Recreation Director; and nine nonpermanent members who shall be appointed by the Town of Alden, four of whom shall be appointed for a one-year period, and five for a two-year period. Members may be reappointed. The nine nonpermanent appointed members shall be Town of Alden residents, 18 years of age or older, who have no direct involvement with either the Town of Alden or the Town of Alden Recreation Department by reason of employment (either full-time or part-time). The Recreation Advisory Board members shall serve without pay and shall meet a minimum of four times per year (each quarter or quarterly); however, the Chairman may call more frequent meetings at his discretion.
