This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Glen Rock Borough Zoning Ordinance."

The purpose of these regulations is to provide for the harmonious development of the Borough by facilitating:
1. 
The orderly and efficient integration of land development within the Borough.
2. 
Proper density of population.
3. 
Adequate water and sewerage.
4. 
Adequate police protection, schools, parks and other public grounds and buildings.
5. 
The protection of water resources and drainageways.
6. 
Adequate light and air.
7. 
Adequate transportation, parking and loading space.
8. 
The greater health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Borough.
9. 
Protection of the agricultural resources of the Borough.
10. 
Adequate sites for recreation, conservation, scenic and other open space purposes.
11. 
The prevention of blight and overcrowding of land.

This chapter is enacted as part of the overall plan for the orderly growth and development of Glen Rock Borough. As such, this chapter is based upon the expressed or implied community development objectives as contained in the Southern York County (SYC) Region Comprehensive Plan or any other municipal or regional Comprehensive Plan in effect.
