All sections or portions of sections of the prior Zoning Ordinance
are hereby repealed. Wherever the terms of this chapter are more restrictive
of development or use than other ordinances or regulations with respect
to lot area, yard dimensions, percent of lot coverage or other requirements,
the more stringent statute, ordinance or regulation shall govern.
If any section, clause, or provision, of this chapter or determination
made thereunder, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance,
shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent
jurisdiction, the remainder of this chapter as a whole or any other
section, clause, provision or portion thereof, other than the part
deemed invalid or unconstitutional, shall not be affected thereby.
In their interpretation and application, the provisions of this
Zoning Ordinance shall be construed to be minimum requirements for
promotion of the public health, safety, morals and general welfare.
This amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Coventry
and any future amendments shall take effect upon passage.
