A. 
Police services. Police services are provided to the residents of the Borough of Chalfont by and through the Central Bucks Regional Police Department under the supervision of the Central Bucks Regional Police Commission. Any reference to "police," "Police Department," "Police Chief," and/or "Borough Police" in any Borough of Chalfont ordinances, and any appendices, exhibits, or other related documentation, as well as any prior resolutions of the Borough Council, shall hereafter refer to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department and its respective Police Chief and officers.
B. 
To the extent any ordinance or resolution of the Borough pertaining to police pension or benefit programs and pertaining to Police Department employees who may be entitled by law to receive benefits on account of prior service to the Borough of Chalfont Police Department, then such ordinances or resolutions shall not be affected by this chapter. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in this chapter is intended to or shall be construed to create or change or enlarge or duplicate any pension or benefit or right claimed under an ordinance or resolution of the Borough of Chalfont and/or the Central Bucks Regional Police Commission, or its successors.

The Chief of Police for Central Bucks Regional Police Department shall, before entering upon the duties of his office for the Borough, give bond conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties to the Borough of Chalfont.
