A.
The following highways are established as through highways, thus
authorizing stop or yield signs to be erected facing traffic approaching
every intersection with the through highway except for those intersections
with traffic signals, or with exceptions or modifications as indicated
below. Every driver of a vehicle approaching a stop or yield sign
authorized by this section shall stop the vehicle or yield right-of-way
as required by § 3323(b) or 3323(c) of the Vehicle Code,[1] as the case may be, and shall not proceed into or across
the through highway until he has followed all applicable requirements
of that section of the law.

A.
REGULAR COMMUTER HOURS
THROUGH TRAFFIC
Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
Any time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and any time between
3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Movement by a motor vehicle either from Limekiln Pike along
New Jersey Avenue to the intersection between New Jersey Avenue and
Taft Avenue or from the intersection of Taft Avenue along New Jersey
Avenue to Limekiln Pike.
B.
Streets designated. That portion of New Jersey Avenue within the
Borough of Chalfont between Limekiln Pike and Taft Avenue shall be
closed to through traffic during regular commuter hours.
C.
Exemption for certain school buses. Notwithstanding the foregoing,
the prohibitions set forth in this section shall not apply to school
buses operated by the Central Bucks School District during times that
the schools of the Central Bucks School District are in session.
D.
Posting of signs notifying of closure to through traffic. The Borough
shall post signs, with a design approved by the Borough Engineer,
to notify motorists approaching New Jersey Avenue of the closure to
through traffic. The signs shall be located, with the Borough Engineer's
approval, within the New Jersey Avenue right-of-way, on each side
of the cartway, with two such signs facing Limekiln Pike at the intersection
of New Jersey Avenue and Limekiln Pike, and with two such signs facing
the New Jersey Avenue-Taft Avenue intersection. The signs shall contain
the text "ROAD CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC WEEKDAYS 7:00 a.m. to 9:00
a.m., 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m."
E.
Violations and penalties. It shall be a violation of this section
for any person to drive a motor vehicle as through traffic at any
time when New Jersey Avenue is closed to through traffic. Any person
who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a summary
offense and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of
$100 plus costs.
