As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings given herein:
CURBSIDE PARKING SPACETwenty-two linear feet of curb, exclusive of those portions of the curb where parking, apart from the provisions of this article, is not presently permitted.
DAYTIME PARKING PERMIT AREAA public street or streets within a residential district where curbside parking is restricted as set forth in this article on weekdays during daytime hours fixed by the Traffic Commission to not more than two consecutive hours unless the vehicle properly displays a parking permit authorized by this article.
DWELLING UNITA single unit providing independent living facilities for one or more persons, including provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking and sanitation. For purposes of this article, a dwelling unit includes, amongst other dwelling units, a single apartment or efficiency, a single-family house, a dwelling unit within a multifamily house, and dwelling units within other types of facilities.
NIGHTTIME PARKING PERMIT AREAA neighborhood district where curbside parking on public highways is restricted as set forth in this article on weekdays during hours fixed by the Traffic Commission, unless the vehicle properly displays a parking permit authorized by this article.
RESIDENTA person who occupies real estate within a residential district as his/her principal or secondary residence.
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTA contiguous or nearly contiguous area containing public highways or parts thereof primarily abutted by residential property or residential and nonbusiness property, determined to be a residential district by the Traffic Commission.
