[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General
Provisions, Art. I)]
Individuals who serve alcoholic beverages pursuant to a liquor
license that allows the service of alcohol for consumption on the
premises must complete a server training program certified by the
Division of Liquor Licensing and Enforcement no later than September
1, 2018, or within 90 days of the commencement of their employment
with a licensee if said employment begins within 90 days of September
1, 2018, or thereafter.
Liquor licensees whose license allows the service of alcohol
for consumption on the premises shall maintain on the licensed premises,
or in the case of a caterer at the principal place of business, written
records of the server training programs completed by individuals who
serve alcohol and shall produce those records upon request by the
City Manager or her designee, a member of the Bangor Police Department,
or an agent of the State Bureau of Liquor Enforcement.
Failure to meet the training requirement imposed by §
61-29 may result in the denial of a liquor license pursuant to 28-A M.R.S.A. § 653, Subsection 2G.
