A. 
Trustees. There shall be six Trustees of the Village, three elected at each annual spring election for a term of two years, commencing on the third Tuesday of April in the year of their election.
B. 
Village President. The Village President shall be chosen at the regular spring election in odd-numbered years for terms of two years commencing on the third Tuesday of April in the year of their election.

The following Village officials shall be appointed at the first regular meeting of the Village Board in May of odd-numbered years, or as otherwise indicated in this section:

Elected and appointed officials shall take and file the official oath within five days after notice of their election or appointment as provided in § 61.21, Wis. Stats., and shall execute and file the official bond as required by state statutes and this Municipal Code.
A. 
Elected officials. Elected officials may be removed by the Village Board as provided in § 17.13(2), Wis. Stats., or by the judge of the circuit court for cause pursuant to § 17.13(3), Wis. Stats., or as provided by § 17.16, Wis. Stats.

B. 
Appointed officials. The Village Board may remove appointed officials as provided in §§ 17.13(1), 17.13(3) and 17.16, Wis. Stats.

How occurring. Vacancies in elective and appointive positions are caused as provided in §§ 17.03 and 17.035, Wis. Stats.
B. 
How filled. Vacancies in elective and appointive offices will be filled as provided in § 17.24, Wis. Stats.
The Village Board determines the salaries of all elected and appointed officials. However, the salary of the President and Trustees of the Board shall not be increased during their terms of office. See § 66.0505, Wis. Stats.
In case of absence, sickness or other disability of the Village President, the President Pro Tem shall execute on the part of the Village every contract, conveyance, commission, license or other written instrument as set forth in § 61.50, Wis. Stats., and preside over all meetings as set forth in §§ 61.24 and 61.32, Wis. Stats.

The Director of Public Works shall be appointed by a majority vote of the Village Board solely on the basis of merit, training, experience, administrative ability, efficiency and general qualifications and fitness for performing the duties of the position. The Village Board shall act as Director of Public Works until such time as it is deemed necessary to appoint an individual as such Director.
The Director of Public Works shall hold office for an indefinite term subject to removal for cause after a public hearing by a 3/4 vote of the Village Board.
The Director of Public Works shall have the following duties and powers:
A. 
He shall have general charge and supervision of all public works in the Village.
B. 
He shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of streets, alleys, curb and gutters, sidewalks, bridges, street signs, storm sewers, culverts and drainage facilities, sanitary sewers, Village buildings and structures and all machinery, equipment and property used in any activity under his control.
C. 
He shall have charge of all public services, including garbage and refuse collection and disposal, snow and ice removal, street cleaning and flushing, mosquito and rodent control.
D. 
He shall perform such other activities and duties as are imposed upon him from time to time by the Village Board.
E. 
He shall have full power to employ and discharge all employees under his direction subject to approval of the Village Board.
