The Huntingdon Borough Code Enforcement Officer (hereinafter "CEO") shall be responsible for enforcement of the Huntingdon Borough Code, including, but not limited to, the following chapters: Chapter 2 (Animals), Chapter 4 (Buildings), Chapter 6 (Conduct), Chapter 10 (Health and Safety), and Chapter 11 (Housing). The CEO will report directly to the Huntingdon Borough Manager; however, he/she will also be responsible to attend the monthly Public Safety Committee.

The CEO shall be appointed for an indefinite term by Huntingdon Borough Council. The CEO shall serve at the pleasure of Huntingdon Borough Council, and he/she may be removed at any time by vote of Council.

1. 
The CEO shall have the following duties, which shall be exclusive to the CEO unless otherwise determined and directed by Huntingdon Borough Council:
A. 
Enforcing the ordinances relating to animals, buildings, conduct, health, safety, and housing.
B. 
Investigating, preparing and issuing ordinance violations and citations.
C. 
Responding to complaints from residents, business operators, contractors and members of the general public, and conducting field investigations of potential Code violations.
D. 
Meeting with property owners, tenants and business owners to review and explain Code requirements.
E. 
Preparing complaints and representing the Borough at District Justice hearings for Code violations and citations.
F. 
Monitoring properties for violation of property maintenance ordinances (snow/ice, dangerous structures, house numbering, nuisance properties, trash, etc.), drafting notices of violations and posting appropriate notices on the property.
G. 
Maintaining records of complaints, inspections, violations, and property information in a property maintenance database to ensure that all data is current and accurate.
H. 
Presenting a report to Council on a monthly basis or as otherwise requested.
I. 
Performing the duties of the Huntingdon Borough Assistant Zoning Officer.
J. 
Performing other duties as directed by Council.

If any section or provision of this subpart is declared by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional, illegal, or invalid, such unconstitutionality, illegality or invalidity shall not affect the constitutionality, legality or validity of this subpart as a whole nor the constitutionality, legality or validity of any other section or provision of this subpart other than the one so declared to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid.
