A. A certain
document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Portageville, Missouri, being marked and designated
as "The BOCA Fire Prevention Code, 1999 Edition" as published by the
Building Officials Conference of America, Inc., is hereby adopted
as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Portageville in the State
of Missouri for the control of buildings and structures as herein
provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties,
conditions and terms of the BOCA Basic Fire Prevention Code, 1970
Edition, are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part thereof,
as if fully set out in this Article.
B. Upon
conviction of a violation of any provision of the Code above-referenced,
the violator shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred
dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail for
not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
