Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:14-141, there is
hereby established the position of Police Chaplain of the Byram Township
Police Department. The Mayor and Council, upon the recommendation
of the Chief of Police, may appoint an ordained clergyman in good
standing in the religious body from which he is selected as Police
Chaplain for the Byram Township Police Department. Said Chaplain shall
be a member of the Township Police Department without rank and without
salary. The appointment as Police Chaplain shall be on an annual basis
with all appointments expiring as of December 31 of each year. The
Police Chaplain shall have such duties as are assigned by the Chief
of Police.
