The Danville Municipal Authority's Rules and Regulations,
as revised on July 18, 2016, disallows:
A. Any customer or person not authorized by the Authority to operate
any curb stop, valve, or hydrant in any Authority line or main;
B. The Authority's curb box/lid to be covered over (by sod, stone,
pavement, concrete, etc.) or otherwise tampered with;
C. Any customer or person not authorized by the Authority to remove
and/or tamper with any meter, meter seal or meter seal wire.

A. Any person who shall violate any provisions of this article shall,
upon conviction thereof, for each and every offense, be punishable
by an issuance of a nontraffic citation of not less than $100 or not
more than $300 and costs of such proceedings, or upon default of payment
of such fines and costs, by imprisonment in the county jail for a
term of not more than 30 days.
B. In the event that it is found evident that any customer or person
has damaged any curb stop, valve, hydrant, meter seal or meter seal
wire, the Borough may proceed to correct such damages and shall charge
the cost thereof, plus 20%, to the customer or person causing such
damage.
C. In the event that an Authority's curb box/lid is covered over
by sod, stone, pavement, concrete, etc., it shall be at the discretion
of the Borough of Danville employees that said curb box/lid shall
be uncovered. Upon proper notice to the property owner serviced by
said curb box, the curb box shall be uncovered at the property owner's
expense. In the event that said curb box is not uncovered by the property
owner in the stated time frame, the Borough may proceed to uncover
said curb box and shall charge the cost thereof, plus 20%, to the
property owner.
It shall be the duty of the Danville Borough employees to enforce
the terms of this article and secure compliance with the requirements
thereof.
The provisions of this article are severable, and if any section,
clause, sentence, part or provision thereof shall be held illegal,
invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision of the court shall not affect, impair or invalidate
any of the remaining sections, clauses, sentences, parts or provisions
of the article. The provisions of any prior ordinance which are inconsistent
with the provisions of this article are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
This article shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
