There is hereby established a Concerts on the Beach Committee
whose purpose shall be to assist with the coordination of the summer
concert series held at the Westerly Town Beach for the enjoyment of
the public.
A.Â
The Committee shall consist of eight members, all who shall be voting
members of the Committee:
(1)Â
Six members of the general public appointed by the Town Council for
a term of six years expiring in November. The terms shall be staggered
so that appointments are made every year.
(2)Â
Two members of the Town Council designated by the Council President
whose terms shall be concurrent with the Council term.
(3)Â
The Recreation Director shall be an ex-officio member of the committee.
B.Â
Any vacancy occurring on said Committee shall be filled by the Town
Council for the remainder of the unexpired term.
The Committee shall elect a Secretary from among its members.
It shall be the duty of the Secretary to take minutes of each meeting,
be in charge of all correspondence and records of this Committee,
and be responsible for posting all notices of meetings of said Committee
in accordance with R.I.G.L. 42-46-6(b) Open Meetings Act. The minutes
of each meeting of the Committee shall be posted with the Secretary
of State and on the Town of Westerly website.
