A. 
A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Battlefield, Missouri, being marked and designated as the International Building Code, 2018 Edition, including Appendix Chapters B, D, I, and J, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Battlefield, in the State of Missouri, for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all commercial property, commercial buildings and commercial structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that commercial structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use, and for the condemnation of commercial buildings and commercial structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Subsection (B) of this Section.
B. 
The following sections are hereby revised:
1. 
Section 101.1. Insert into the bracketed area: "City of Battlefield, Missouri."
2. 
Section 114.4 Violation penalties. Add a sentence to the end of the paragraph to read as follows: "The penalties are set forth in Section 500.040 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Battlefield, Missouri."
3. 
Section 1612.3. Insert into the bracketed area: "City of Battlefield, Missouri."
4. 
Section 1612.3. Insert into the bracketed area: "May 6, 2014."
C. 
Nothing in this Article or in the Building Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance repealed by Ordinance No. 19-05; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Article.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this Article or the Code adopted in this Article shall be deemed guilty of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
