A Municipal Court for the Township of Winslow is established as of January 1, 1949, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter
264 of the Laws of 1948, as amended and supplemented.

The name of the Municipal Court shall be the "Municipal Court
of Winslow Township."
The Municipal Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impress
of the name of the Court.

There shall be two (2) Municipal Judges of said Municipal Court,
who shall be appointed by the Township Committee and who shall serve
for a term of three (3) years from the date of their appointment and
until their successor is appointed and qualified.

The Municipal Judges shall be compensated by an annual salary
as fixed and determined in the Salary Ordinance adopted by the Township
Committee, which shall be in lieu of any and all other fees.

The said Municipal Court and the Municipal Court Judges thereof shall have, possess and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provision of Chapter
264 of the Laws of 1948, as amended and supplemented, or by any other law.

There shall be a Clerk of the Municipal Court, a Deputy Clerk
of the Municipal Court and such other necessary clerical employees
or assistants required by said Municipal Court, who shall serve for
a term of one (1) year from the date of their appointment and until
a successor is appointed and qualified. Said Clerk, Deputy Clerk and
other clerical help or assistants shall be paid such salary as the
governing body shall from time to time fix in the Salary Ordinance.
Said Clerk, Deputy Clerk and other clerical help or assistants shall
perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed by law, the
rules applicable to municipal courts and by the Municipal Judges,
as well as comply with all laws and regulations required for or directed
towards the proper performance of their functions and duties.

The Municipal Court shall be held in the Township Municipal
Building. The Municipal Judges shall sit from 9:30 a.m. until the
calendar is completed and at such other times as the business of the
Court may require, subject to the rules applicable to municipal courts.

A. A person applying for representation by the Winslow Township Public Defender shall pay an application fee to the Winslow Township Court Administrator as set forth in Chapter
29 of this Code.

B. The Judges of the Municipal Court of the Township of Winslow may
waive this application fee in whole or in part if the Court determines
in its discretion that the application fee represents an unreasonable
burden on the person requesting such representation.
