As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
JUNK- OR SALVAGE YARD
The storing, accumulation, selling or processing of junked
vehicles or parts thereof, or of any scrap or metal products, or of
abandoned vehicles, whether or not such storing, accumulation, selling,
or processing is done for profit. Two or more junked or abandoned
vehicles shall be construed to come within the scope of this chapter.
Moreover, any recycling or impacting for removal, shipment or reuse
shall be deemed to come within the scope of this chapter.

From the passage of this chapter, no junk- or salvage yard shall
be established or maintained except in an industrial zone as a conditional
use.
All junk- and salvage yards, whether or not established prior
to the date of this chapter, shall comply with the following rules
and regulations:
A. Each such establishment shall be protected with steel posts and cyclone-type
fence at least eight feet high from the ground with structural-type
qualities, and evergreens of the tree variety shall be planted and
grown a maximum of 12 feet apart on the outside of the fence upon
the property of the owner.
B. No junked or abandoned vehicles shall be dismantled or destroyed
except after a period of 48 hours from the time of delivery to such
junk- or salvage yard.
C. All vehicle reports and books showing ownership of the same shall
be open to inspection by the Zoning Officer or police.
D. Each such establishment shall have on duty an employee during normal
working hours when the establishment is in operation.
E. No junk- or salvage yard shall be established or maintained within
an area of 50 feet to any street or road or to any property line.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay
a fine of not more than $300 and/or to imprisonment for a term not
to exceed 90 days. Each and every day of violation shall be a separate
offense.
