This chapter is known and may be designated as "The Cherry Hill Township Organization Ordinances of 1981", as revised.
As used in this chapter:
CHARTER
Shall mean Mayor-Council Plan "B" (Article 4) of the Optional Municipal Charter Law (New Jersey Laws of 1950, Ch. 210, as amended).
DEPARTMENT
Shall mean an organizational unit of the government established or designated by this chapter as a department.
DIVISION
Shall mean an organizational unit of the government established or designated by this chapter as a division.
GENERAL LAW
Shall mean statutes which are not inconsistent with the charter and either:
a. 
Are by their terms applicable or available to all municipalities; or
b. 
Relate to taxation, local courts, education, health, public authorities serving more than one (1) municipality, and municipalities in an unsound financial condition.
MUNICIPAL AND MUNICIPALITY
Shall mean and refer to the Township of Cherry Hill, in the County of Camden, New Jersey.
ORDINANCE
Shall mean any and all ordinances of the Township of Cherry Hill in force and effect on July 1, 1981 and thereafter.
SUBDIVISION
Shall mean an organizational unit of government established by this chapter as a subdivision, and shall be part of a division.
All ordinances and resolutions including amendments and supplements thereto, of the Township of Cherry Hill, and any Board, Department or Division thereof heretofore in existence as of July 1, 1981, except such as may be inconsistent with any and all provisions of the charter, including amendments thereto are hereby continued in full force and effect according to their terms.
