The Planning Board of the Township, heretofore created by ordinance pursuant to general law, (but not the members thereof) is continued with the functions, powers and duties prescribed by general law and ordinance, and pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-23, the Class II and Class IV members shall be appointed by the Mayor, while the Class III member shall be appointed by the Council. Two (2) alternate members shall be appointed by the Mayor for two (2) year rotating terms, with one (1) of the initial appointments to be for one (1) year. The terms of the initial members of the Planning Board shall be one (1) for one (1) year, one (1) for two (2) years, two (2) for three (3) years and two (2) for four (4) years.
