There shall be a Municipal Prosecutor, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of one year and who shall serve until his/her successor is duly appointed and qualified. Vacancies, other than for the expiration of a term, shall be filled for the unexpired term.
There may also be appointed one or more individuals as Assistant Municipal Prosecutor. An Assistant Municipal Prosecutor shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of one year and who shall serve until his/her successor is duly appointed and qualified. Vacancies, other than for the expiration of a term, shall be filled for the unexpired term.
a. 
There shall be a Municipal Public Defender, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of one year and who shall serve pending reappointment or until his/her successor is duly appointed and qualified.

b. 
Appointments to fill vacancies in the position of municipal public defender shall be made in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 2B:24-4 as soon as practicable.

In addition to any other means provided by law for the removal from office of a public official, a municipal public defender may be removed by the Borough Council for good cause shown and after a public hearing, and upon due notice and an opportunity to be heard. Failure to reappoint a municipal public defender for a second or subsequent term does not constitute a "removal from office" within the meaning of this subsection.

The Mayor shall, with the advice and consent of the Borough Council, appoint one or more Affirmative Action Officers for personnel matters. The Affirmative Action Officer shall serve a term of one year and until his successor is duly appointed and qualified.

There shall be appointed by the Mayor an Emergency Management Coordinator. The Emergency Management Coordinator shall serve for a term of three years and be a resident of the Borough. As a condition of his appointment and his right to continue for the full term of his appointment, each Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator shall have successfully completed at the time of his appointment or within one year immediately following his appointment, the current approved Home Study Course and the basic Emergency Management workshop.

The Borough Council shall appoint an independent auditor who shall have the designation "Registered Municipal Accountant." Such individual shall be appointed annually and shall perform the duties and functions as prescribed by the Division of Local Government Services, the Local Finance Board and the Department of Community Affairs. Such individual shall also conduct an annual audit of the financial affairs of the Borough and shall report on the audit in the manner prescribed by law. A Registered Municipal Accountant may by a member of an accounting firm where other members of the firm are not licensed as "Registered Municipal Accountants" and such firm may assist in the preparation of the annual audit provided that the Registered Municipal Accountant shall supervise the work performed and assume ultimate responsibility therefore.

The Borough Council shall provide for a certified annual audit to be conducted under the supervision of the Registered Municipal Accountant.
