Every person or persons, firm or corporation who or which has
agreed or has become bound to furnish hot water to tenants or occupants
of buildings designed to be occupied by two (2) or more families as
residences, in the Borough of Little Ferry, shall furnish to such
tenants or occupants, during a twenty-four (24) hour period daily,
an adequate supply of hot water of a minimum temperature of one hundred
fifty (150°F.) degrees Fahrenheit.

Whenever a dwelling designated to be occupied, or occupied by
two (2) or more families as residences, is supplied with hot water
from a plant or system operated under the control of the owner, his
lessee or his agent, as landlord, in the absence of an express agreement
to the contrary, such owner, his lessee or agent shall be deemed to
have agreed or become bound to furnish hot water in accordance with
the provisions of this chapter. The presence of such hot-water plant
or system in any such dwelling designed to be occupied, or occupied
by two (2) or more families, as residences shall be prima facie evidence
of such agreement or obligation.
