The Borough of East Pittsburgh's Tree Commission maintains jurisdiction over all trees planted on Borough property, Borough right-of-way, or Borough easement. The care and maintenance of all trees planted between the curb and the sidewalk is the responsibility of the homeowner.
The Tree Commission consists of three members along with the Mayor. Members are appointed by the Council and must be certified tree tenders.
Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation.
A. 
The Tree Commission decides/reviews and provides a recommendation concerning tree planting/removal applications within the Borough.

The Tree Commission shall work in conjunction with the East Pittsburgh Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC), Borough Council, and interested groups devoted to tree care and maintenance.

The Tree Commission shall elect a Chairperson, who will schedule meetings at least three times per year to inspect and review tree plantings in the Borough.
B. 
Any vacancy caused by resignation, death, or otherwise shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as original appointments are made.
