POLICY REGARDING: COMPLAINTS AGAINST MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
|
Complaints against employees of the Township of Wantage, whether
made by a citizen, a taxpayer, an official or other employee shall
be handled in the following manner:
|
Where investigation of a complaint reveals that the accused
party is guilty of conduct unbecoming a Wantage Township employee,
appropriate disciplinary action shall be taken by the Administrator;
i.e., reprimand, suspension, etc.

Where investigation reveals the complaint to be baseless in
fact, simple harassment, malicious in nature, or as the result of
a personality clash between individuals, the Administrator of the
Township will then take whatever steps are available within the statutes
to defend the charged employee so as to protect his good name and
the name of the Township.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Township Committee of the Township of
Wantage, hereby rescinds the Resolution Adopted on June 12, 1984 dealing
with the disposition of accumulated sick leave and entitled vacation
pay upon the dismissal, resignation, retirement or death of Township
Employees, and
|
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said resolution is replaced
in its entirety as follows:

Any employee hired prior to January 1, 2007, who retires at
or after the age of 65 and will have completed 25 years or more of
service to the Township as a full-time employee will receive an annual
payment of $2,000 to offset the individual's cost of purchasing
an additional insurance policy to supplement Medicare coverage, or
to be used for any other purpose the individual desires, for the remainder
of the Employee's natural life. Any employee hired on or after
January 1, 2007 shall not be entitled to any paid health benefits
upon retirement, regardless of the person's age and/or years
of service.

WHEREAS, Nelson J. Struck has been employed by the Township
of Wantage as Township Clerk, Township Administrator and in other
capacities since January 1, 1946, and
|
WHEREAS, Nelson J. Struck, has provided the highest level of
service to the Township over the entire term of his employment, and
|
WHEREAS, the Township Committee of the Township of Wantage deems
it appropriate to recognize the outstanding service of Nelson J. Struck
by awarding him pension pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 43:8B-1
et seq., as amended by Ch. 117, P.L. 1987;
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of
the Township of Wantage, that Nelson J. Struck is hereby awarded an
annual pension in the sum of $14,400 payable in equal monthly installments
of $1,200 per month, the first payment commencing October 1, 1987,
the date of his retirement, and on the first day of each and every
month thereafter.
