The Governing Body shall now hold its annual organizational
or reorganization meeting during the first seven days of January of
each year in compliance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:60-3.
The exact date and time shall be determined by the Mayor and
Council at their final meeting held in the preceding year and by the
dissemination of the date and time in compliance with the provisions
of P.L. 1975, c.231 The Open Public Meetings Act.
The meeting shall be held at the designated prevailing time
in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 601 Union Lane,
Brielle, New Jersey.

The Governing Body may, at their discretion, elect to conduct
their first monthly meeting of January of any year in conjunction
with the organization/reorganization meeting, provided that proper
notice is given in compliance with P.L. 1975 c. 231.

The Governing Body shall have the right to appoint a Council
Liaison to any entity, public or private that is funded by the Borough
of Brielle using public money. The purpose of the Council Liaison
is to keep the Governing Body advised of the activities of such entity
and to act as an intermediary between that body and the Mayor and
Council.
The Liaison shall have the right to be in attendance at all
meetings of such entities and shall not be excluded from attendance
at those sessions commonly referred to as Executive Session under
the provisions of "The Open Public Meetings Act" (N.J.S.A. 10-4.6).
When attending an Executive Session the Council Liaison shall
be bound by the same restrictions that apply to an Executive Session
of the Governing Body and any matters discussed in such a session
shall be reported to the Governing Body in Executive Session to ensure
confidentiality.
