There is hereby established as the Official Map of the Borough of Brielle, in the County of Monmouth, pursuant to the Official Map and Building Permit Act (1953) as amended, the map entitled "Official Map of Borough of Brielle, Monmouth County, New Jersey, 1955", prepared by Claude W. Birdsall, as revised December 1974 by Thomas W. Birdsall, Borough Engineer, which map is on file in the office of the Borough Clerk where it is open to public inspection.[1]

From the date this section takes effect, the provisions of the Official Map shall be controlling in all matters relating to or affected by the Official Map and Building Permit Act (1953) hereinabove referred to.

The establishment of the Official Map is hereby declared to be for the purpose of conserving and promoting the public health, safety, morals and general welfare.
