The Fire Official shall consult with the fire chief prior to
recommending the location of new or relocation of existing fire hydrants
or the placement or replacement of inadequate water mains.

(a)
A fire hydrant shall not be removed from service until notification
is provided to the fire chief.
(b)
No person shall use or operate any fire hydrant intended for use
of the fire department unless such person first secures a permit for
such use from the Fire Official and the water company having jurisdiction.
This subsection shall not apply to the use of such hydrants by an
authorized officer or agent of the water company having jurisdiction.
