A. 
No person, except the owner or lessee of the building, land or property and persons specifically authorized by him/her in writing, which writing shall be in the person's possession, shall, for the purpose of hunting, taking or killing any wildlife, have in his/her possession a loaded firearm while within 450 feet of any occupied building in the Township of Pequannock, or of any school playground.

B. 
The discharge, firing or use of any gun, pistol, firearm or weapon of any description whatsoever at any place whatsoever in the Township of Pequannock is hereby specifically prohibited, except as hereinafter set forth.
The Township Manager of the Township of Pequannock may, upon proper application being made as hereinafter set forth, give specific permission to a person, for limited periods of time, in certain places of the Township, to discharge or use a gun, pistol, firearm or weapon in the Township of Pequannock for sport, recreation or the protection of property. The granting or denial of any permission under this section shall be in the complete and sole discretion of the Township Manager of the Township of Pequannock, in accordance with standards as herein set forth and as to protect the health, safety and welfare of Pequannock.
A. 
Any person desiring to make application under § 162-2 hereof for the specific permission shall file with the Police Department of the Township of Pequannock a proper application for the same provided by the Police Department at police headquarters. Said application will then be investigated by the Police Department and its recommendations will then be made available to the Township Manager of the Township of Pequannock. The Township Manager shall take action on said application. No permission will be given unless said applicant specifically states in the application where the discharge, firing or use of said gun, pistol, firearm or weapon is to take place and for what period of time, and if on land other than the land owned by the applicant, said applicant must then accompany his application with specific written permission from the owner or owners of said land set forth in said application, and each application shall be accompanied by a photograph of the applicant.
B. 
All firearm permits shall be for a period of one year from April 1 to March 31 and all permits issued on and after April 1 in any one year shall expire on March 31 of the following year.
C. 
All applications shall be accompanied by a fee as provided in Chapter 152, Fees, to cover the cost of Township processing. Said fee shall be payable initially and for all renewals.
