As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
following meanings:
An electronic device that can be used to deliver nicotine
or other substances to the person inhaling from the device, including,
but not limited to, an electronic cigarette, cigar, cigarillo or pipe.
All public parks, playgrounds, or ball fields, publicly owned
or leased by the Township of Hillsborough, upon which the public is
invited or upon which the public is permitted and where individuals
gather for recreational activities, including all areas adjacent to
such facilities including, but not limited to, parking areas, driveways
or driveway aisles.
The burning of, inhaling from, exhaling the smoke from, or
the possession of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other matter
or substance which contains tobacco or any other matter that can be
smoked, or the inhaling or exhaling of smoke or vapor from an electronic
smoking device.

Except for areas specifically designated by the Township Administrator
as smoking areas, smoking is and shall be prohibited in all areas,
public or private, inside or outside the premises of the Hillsborough
Township Municipal Complex, Peter J. Biondi Building, located at 379
South Branch Road, Hillsborough, N.J.
B.Â
Smoking is and shall be prohibited in Parks and Recreation facilities.
For a violation of the provisions of this article, the maximum
penalty upon conviction shall be a fine not to exceed $250.
