Town of Abingdon, VA Town Parks

The use and/or possession of alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited within any Town park.

There shall be no motorized vehicles allowed in any park with the exception of law enforcement, emergency response, electrically powered wheelchairs, and/or maintenance vehicles belonging to the Town of Abingdon.

(c)

Littering in Town parks is strictly prohibited and all persons using a Town park should place all waste or trash in the receptacles provided.

(d)

All pets must be kept on a leash while in a Town park.

(e)

Pet owners are required to dispose of any waste deposited by a pet in a Town park.

(f)

The playing of loud music not in conjunction with a Town-sponsored event is strictly prohibited within a Town park.

(g)

Visitors are encouraged to be considerate of others while using a Town park.

(h)

Any organized events within a Town park must be approved by an authorized representative of the Town of Abingdon Parks and Recreation Department.

(i)

Loitering and solicitation are strictly prohibited within a Town park.

(j)

Except for law enforcement officers acting with their official scope of employment, the brandishing or unauthorized use of firearms within a Town park is strictly prohibited.

(k)

All Town parks will be closed from dusk to dawn except for events sponsored by the Town of Abingdon.

(l)

All rules and regulations heretofore mentioned shall apply to all Town parks with the exception of the Virginia Creeper Trail and the Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center.
