This chapter shall apply to all new fences and enlargement of
existing fences.
For the purpose of this chapter, certain terms are herewith
defined as follows:
FENCE
Any partition, structure, or gate erected as a dividing marker,
barrier or enclosure, including hedges or living bushes or shrubs,
within or along the bounds of a lot parcel.
HEIGHT
The distance from the grade (ground) to the top of the highest
point of the fence at any given point along the fence.
Fences must be at least 18 inches away from the property line
to allow for maintenance of the fence.
Prior to erection, installation, or enlargement of any fence,
an application for a building permit must be submitted and approved.
A building permit shall be applied for at the Village of Mishicot
Hall. All fences shall be maintained in good repair and in structurally
sound condition. The fence must be constructed within one year from
the date of issuance of the permit or the permit will expire.
[Added at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions,
Art. II)]
Violation of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as provided in §
1-2 of this Code.
