In accordance with Chapter 110 of the Laws of
1988,[1] there is hereby created the office of Chief Financial
Officer of the Township of Union of the County of Union.[2]

Editor's Note: Original Section 2 of this ordinance, which provided for the appointment of Joseph J. Kmet as Chief Financial Officer, and original Section 3 of this ordinance, which provided for the salary of the Officer, of the 1986 Code, previously followed this section, but have been omitted from the Code. See now Ch. 164, Salaries and Compensation.
[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General
Provisions, Art. I)]
The term of office for any subsequent appointee
shall be four years commencing January 1 of the year of appointment,
unless and until said appointee becomes qualified for tenure under
the statutes then in force.
Said Chief Financial Officer shall be responsible
for carrying out the duties set forth in N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq.
