Editor's note—A fire prevention board was created by Ordinance
487 adopted 7/9/1931 and was codified in the 1959 Code as sections
12-22 through 12-28. The Southeast Lubbock development board was created
by Ordinance 1273 adopted 9/11/1952, as amended by Ordinance 4068
adopted 4/11/1963 and Ordinance 6294 adopted 2/10/1972 and codified
as sections 2-25 through 2-31 of the 1959 Code. An advisory urban
renewal agency was created by Ordinance 2089 adopted 12/20/1956, as
amended by Ordinance 2152 adopted 3/14/1957. Ordinance 2340 adopted
10/25/1957 called for a special election for the creation of a new
urban renewal agency.

Division 2 of article X of chapter 2, sections 2-270 through 2-272, of the 1983 Code, which pertained to the municipal garden and arts center advisory committee, was repealed by Ordinance 9566, sec. 1, adopted 12/17/1992. Sections 2-270—2-272 derived from Ordinance 9348, sec. 1, adopted 4/12/1990, as amended by Ordinance 9443, sec. 1, adopted 5/23/1991.

Article XII of chapter 2, sections 2-308 through 2-311, pertaining to the community relations task force, was repealed in its entirety by Ordinance 2009-O0020 adopted 3/23/2009. Prior to its repeal, the article was amended in its entirety by Ordinance 2003-O0032, sec. 2, adopted 5/8/2003. This article formerly consisted of sections 2-308 through 2-311 of the 1983 Code, which pertained to the community relations commission, and derived from Ordinance 6276 adopted 3/9/1972; Ordinance 8061 adopted 6/26/1980, and Ordinance 10142 adopted 2/25/1999. Additionally, Ordinance 10142 combined the human relations commission and the committee for women under the community relations commission. The committee for women derived from Ordinance 8903 adopted 4/9/1986 and was formerly codified as article XXII, sections 2-570 through 2-572, of chapter 2 of the 1983 Code.

Sec. 28.01.002 Scope
|
Editor's note—Ordinance 2005-O0140 referred to article
IX of the 1983 Code as pertaining to the 2003 International Existing
Buildings Code, as amended. At the time of adoption of Ordinance 2009-O0033
on April 27, 2009, article IX did not exist and the city had not adopted
the 2003 International Existing Buildings Code. The reference to article
IX has been deleted from the section above.

Editor's note—Section 2 of Ordinance 2005-O0140, adopted

ARTICLE 36.01 GENERAL PROVISIONS
|
Editor's note—Ordinance 1323, secs. 1, 2, adopted 1/8/1953,

and planting in parkways, were repealed by Ordinance 9014, secs. 6,
