(a)
The office of city secretary-treasurer be and is hereby discontinued. The financial duties of said office shall be performed by a city treasurer appointed by the city council rather than by a city secretary-treasurer or the director of finance of the City of Lubbock.
(b)
The city secretary shall continue to perform the secretarial duties of said discontinued office.
Editor’s note–Ordinance 8634, sec. 1, adopted 7/12/1984, repealed Ordinance 387 adopted 8/15/1927. Because section 1 of Ordinance 387 had provided for the consolidation of the offices of city secretary and city treasurer and had been codified as section 2-3 of the 1983 Code, such provisions were deleted, and sections 2 and 3 of Ordinance 8634 were set out as provided above.
(Ordinance 387, sec. 1, adopted 8/15/1927; 1959 Code, sec. 2-10; 1983 Code, sec. 2-3; Ordinance 8634, secs. 1–3, adopted 7/12/1984; Ordinance 2002-O0123, sec. 1, adopted 11/14/2002; Ordinance 2012-O0129, sec. 1, adopted 11/29/2012; Ordinance 2021-O0085 adopted 7/27/2021)
