Editor’s note–At a special election held on 5/7/1988, the voters approved an amendment to the Charter which deleted all of the sections in this article and replaced them with the one sentence that appears in section 1. Prior to the amendment in 1988, article III consisted of sections 1, 1A, and 3 through 10, all of which pertained to the corporation court. Section 1A had been amended 11/7/1961, section 2 was repealed 1/7/1964, and section 9 had been amended 12/10/1925.
The governing body of the City of Lubbock may by ordinance establish the City’s existing municipal courts as municipal courts of record, which courts of record shall operate in conformance with all applicable laws, ordinances, resolutions and rules.
