The style of all ordinances shall be “Be it ordained by
the City Council of the City of Glenn Heights.” (1996 Code,

All ordinances shall be in writing and shall be introduced by
some member of the city council at an open meeting of the city council
when it shall be read and acted upon. It shall not be necessary to
read the ordinance in its entirety, but the caption shall be read
and a brief summary and explanation of the purpose of the ordinance
provided prior to voting on the ordinance.

All ordinances upon passage shall be approved by the mayor and
attested by the city secretary, and shall be recorded by the city
secretary, in chronological order, in a book of ordinances provided
for such purpose, together with proof of publication, if required.
