There is hereby created the office of city health officer.

The health officer of the City of Brenham shall exercise the
powers and duties of the city in the enforcement of all ordinances
related to the preservation of health and sanitation, abatement of
nuisances, and the prevention of the introduction or spread of contagious
and infectious diseases, and shall perform such other duties as may
be prescribed. The health officer is hereby granted the authority
to issue citations to persons violating any provision of said ordinances,
requiring such persons to appear in municipal court to respond to
the charge made in the citation. It shall be unlawful for any person
to interfere with, obstruct, or hinder the health officer in the exercise
of the powers and duties provided for herein.
