It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation
to engage in the business of tree removal or tree trimming in the
city without first obtaining a written permit therefor from the office
of code enforcement by the person, firm or corporation having direct
charge of such work. There is no fee chargeable for this permit.

Any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in the business of tree removal or tree trimming in the city shall, before doing so, obtain a license therefor, the fee for which shall be as set forth in appendix
A to this code, per year or any portion of a year, which shall be paid into the city treasury before such license shall become effective.

Every person, firm or corporation doing tree removal or tree trimming work in the city shall execute and deliver to the city a bond with a surety bonding company (duly licensed to do business in the state) in the sum as set forth in appendix
A to this code to indemnify the city or any citizen from any damage caused by such person, firm or corporation doing the work.

Any person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of tree
removal or tree trimming work will be required to remove all debris
generated from their work from the job site, and, if hauled to the
city sanitary landfill, to pay a fee for that use.

Property owners physically performing tree removal or tree trimming
on their own property, including rental property, are hereby exempted
from any and all permit, license and bond requirements.

Property owners are required to insure all trimmings or tree
debris is cut into no more than six-foot lengths and placement for
city collection is behind the curb line or street line. Property owners
who fail to insure these requirements will be issued notice from the
office of code enforcement that debris in violation shall be disposed
of at the expense of the property owner.
