This Committee shall be known as the "Mount Pleasant Recreation
Advisory Committee" or the "Committee."
The purpose of this Committee shall be to recommend new recreation
programs, park and recreation facility improvements, and policies,
as well as review existing programs, parks, facilities and policies.
The Committee shall also review any Parks and Recreation Master Plan
annually, if it exists.
This Committee shall be composed of a number of members who
are residents of the Town of Mount Pleasant, said number to be established
by Town Board resolution.
The Committee will be composed of members appointed to terms
of four years.
All members of the Committee will be appointed by a resolution
of the Town Board of Mount Pleasant.
Subsequent appointments will be made by a resolution of the
Town Board of Mount Pleasant as may be necessary to fill any vacancies
that may occur at the expiration of the term of a member or by the
resignation of a member. Such subsequent appointments to the Committee
shall be for a four-year term.
The Committee will annually appoint the Chairperson and Vice
Chairperson to serve for a one-year term. The Committee will elect
a Secretary from its membership.
The Committee will meet monthly or at such other times as it
may deem necessary for the purpose of conducting its business.
No member of the Committee shall be compensated for their services.
All new recreation programs, park and facility improvements,
and policies as well as modifications to existing programs, park and
recreation facility improvements, and policies suggested by the Recreation
Advisory Committee shall be submitted to the Town Board.

recreation facility improvements, and policies suggested by the Recreation
Advisory Committee shall be adopted only upon the approval, by resolution,
of the Mount Pleasant Town Board and will be coordinated through the
office of the Supervisor.
All recreational programs and policies will be implemented and
administered through the Department of Recreation by the Superintendent
of Recreation.
Prior to the Town Board appointing a Superintendent of Recreation,
the Committee may participate in interviews and recommend a candidate
to the Town Board.
The rules and procedures adopted by the Town Board of March
6, 1995, are hereby abolished.
