This article shall be known as the electrical code of the city
and may be cited as such.

For the protection and preservation of the life and comfort,
safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the city and safety
and maintenance of property located and situated therein, the 2017
edition of the National Electrical Code, as sponsored and made available
by the National Fire Protection Association, as amended and supplemented
herein, is hereby adopted. A copy of the 2017 edition of the National
Electrical Code is incorporated herein by reference and has been filed
in the office of the city secretary for permanent record and inspection.

In any instance wherein any provisions of the 2017 edition of the National Electrical Code shall be in conflict with said amendments and supplements thereto in section 22.03.003, the latter shall govern.
